There’s no doubt that fall is my favorite season. I love the cool (but not too cool) weather, the changing leaves and anything that’s pumpkin flavored. The cool, crisp weather just feels like a fresh start to me.
I don’t know why, but fall always feels like the start of something new. Perhaps this is because it takes me back to my school days; when fall came along it meant a new year in school with new classes, new clothes and new friends. Perhaps that mentality has just stuck with me. Either way I like to look at fall as a time of reflection on the recent year and what’s to come of the next.
This past year has been a year of change for me (and that’s an understatement!). Just about this time last year, I moved to a new state, got a new job and started a whole new life with my boyfriend here in Washington, D.C. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s a decision that was for the best and one that I certainly don’t regret.
I look back on where I was one year ago, and I would have never guessed that things would have been the way they are now. Isn’t funny how life works that way? If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that life has a way of working itself out and that God always has a plan. So where will I be next fall? WHO KNOWS! With the way times are changing I guess anything could happen, but no matter what, I know I’m in good hands.
