Etiquette 101: bringing back good manners one post at a time

Since childhood, I’ve always learned the importance of having good manners – thanks, Mom and Dad! To this day, I still cannot refer to close family friends by their first names, it’s always been (and always will be) “Mr. and Mrs. _______.” Unfortunately, I think that proper etiquette has really been put on the back-burner over the last few decades and it needs to make a comeback!

Granted, I’m no Emily Post, but seriously, just a simple “please” or “thank-you” can do wonders sometimes. That’s why I’ve decided to dedicate a few blog posts to this very subject. Perhaps some of these tips you already know, perhaps not. Either way, I hope it refreshes your memory and inspires you to go that extra mile for someone else. Etiquette isn’t just about politeness; it’s about making other people feel special. One of my favorite sayings is “kill ‘em with kindness” and what better way to do that than with good manners. Trust me, you’ll make it very difficult for people to dislike you.

My boyfriend and I have been going to a lot of weddings lately – a whole lot. And it’s not going to stop. Good thing I love weddings! So it makes sense that wedding etiquette tips will be the focus of my first etiquette post. Check back in a couple of days to see my wedding tips and tricks!
