I’ve never been one for making New Year’s resolutions. I’ve just always thought that it was a way to set yourself up for disappointment. Sure, I make goals for myself, but putting a label on it just makes it too easy to break. And for New Year’s resolutions, people tend to get very lofty with their goals – working out 5 days a week…quit smoking…lose 25 pounds…spend more time with friends and family, etc. While all in good nature, it’s not very often that these work out.
While I don’t have a set New Year’s resolution, there are things that I’ve been working on (see my posts on Healthy food, healthy life and The Unthinkable) and I think I’ve been fairly successful with these so far. One of my biggest goals was to change my eating habits by preparing healthier foods myself.
I’m very happy to announce that I’ll be a contributing blogger for the D.C. Ladies blog; a blog dedicated to all things related to the District and the fabulous women that live there. Specifically, I’ll be blogging about my healthy food quests and about the meals I’ll be preparing. What better way to commit myself to healthy cooking than being obligated to write a blog about it every two weeks. 🙂
So please, check out my first post, Learning how to eat healthy – without sacrifice and check out the other entries on the DC Ladies blog!
With that said…are you making a New Year’s resolution this year? And if so, what is it?
Happy New Year!
