Holiday Wrap-Up

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! For us, this year was quiet and very relaxing and for once, involved very little traveling which was a nice change of pace. It was tough not getting to spend it with my family, but we made the best of it.

I started off my Christmas weekend with a mani (of course) and I thought since you all loved my post on OPI’s, I’m Not Really a Waitress, that you would enjoy one of my new favorite nail choices. I think it’s a perfect color for the dreary months ahead and actually makes grey look a lot more fun!

It’s called Lucer-tainly Look Marvelous which again, is so catchy.

After that, it was off to spend Christmas with Randy’s family which was so much fun, especially since we got to spend it with his little cousin Justin! We surprised him with some Star Wars-themed toys and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a kid so exited. πŸ™‚

Then, it was back to Raleigh to have dinner at The Cheesecake Factory for Christmas Eve dinner before heading off to midnight mass.

On Christmas morning, I was treated to some amazing gifts from “Santa” (aka…my parents, sister and Randy).

I got a Kindle Fire which was a complete surprise; I never thought I would really learn to appreciate an e-reader, but I’ve been hooked to mine since I got it and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to give it up! (I still love real books though, I will never be able to give those up either!) My sister even knit me a case for it which was awesome.

But my all-time favorite gift was my hot pink KitchenAid mixer!! Seriously, I’ve been waiting for one of these for years. I refused to get one until a hot pink color came out and this year, my wish came true. πŸ™‚

After Christmas, I was treated to a nice surprise that one of my very best friends was going to come and visit me for a few days! I had to work during the week, but we were able to have some quality girl time and it was so much fun!

Tomorrow it’s back to real life again and I feel relaxed and ready for what 2012 has to bring. I even had some black-eyed peas yesterday so hopefully that will bring me all the luck I need.

How did you spend the holidays this year?

Thanks for such a nice wrap up, Jenny. It’s always a let down after the holidays, but looking forward to 2012 which I’m sure will prove to be a very busy, very expensive and a very joyous year!! Can’t wait!
