A fun tidbit for this Wednesday morning

Since it’s a Wednesday and we’re about half-way through the week, I thought it would be fun to share a funny little story to help get you throught the rest of the week. Enjoy!

Last week, R & I sent out our save-the-date cards which was so fun and exciting. For the past few days we’ve been receiving text messages and emails from our friends and family on how excited they were to get it in the mail.

One of my favorite messages was from my Aunt J (she’s not technically my aunt, she’s really a cousin, but you know what I mean…). Anyways, after reading the story on our wedding website on how we got engaged (if you haven’t heard the story, there’s a recap of it here) she told me how her and her hubby, W got engaged. In fact, they got engaged in Washington, D.C. just like we did! They met at the Cherry Blossom Ball – seriously, how sweet is that?! – and when she told me how W proposed, I just had to share it. Here’s what she wrote…

This is how a young lawyer proposes (in the hallway outside my apartment after he heard I was leaving):

W: Why are you leaving Washington?

J: Why should I stay?

W: Well, I thought maybe we should get married.

J:  Really?   You never mentioned that to me.

W:  Well, I’m telling you now.

J:  Telling me?

W:  Well, do you think we should get married?

J:  Is that a proposal?

W:  Well, I think we should we discuss it.

I couldn’t help but burst out laughing when I read their proposal story. Maybe it wasn’t the most romantic, but definitely something to look back and smile about. My Aunt J and Uncle W have now been married for 41 years. 🙂 Now that’s something special.

I hope this fun little tidbit brightens your week!
