Memorial Weekend Wrap-Up

Hi guys! I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day! Ours was lovely. R and I traveled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a weekend away at the beach. With the wedding so close and us moving into the house this weekend (eeeek!) taking a full vacation wasn’t an option this year so we made the best of the three days we were down there.

There’s something about being at the beach that is just relaxing. While we’ve had a lot of amazing things going on in our lives recently, we’ve also had to deal with some pretty tough news too so going away was just what the doctor ordered. I’m feeling refreshed and my eye has stopped twitching for the first time in a month. (Am I the only one that gets a twitchy eye when I’m super stressed? Perhaps.)

Anyways, here are a few fun pictures from the weekend! This was the view from our condo.

And the Myrtle Beach skyline!

On Saturday, we were out on the beach for a couple hours and then it started raining (thanks, hurricane!) so we mostly relaxed, took a long nap and got a lot of reading done. By the time the evening rolled around though it was clear enough for us to venture out to Murrell’s Inlet for some delicious food.

If you’re ever around Surfside Beach or Murrell’s Inlet in South Carolina, I would definitely recommend going to Bovine’s. The food was fantastic and they make a killer lemon drop martini.

Sunday was a perfect beach day and we literally spent all day out by the ocean and by the pool. It was awesome! And, we were pretty fortunate and really didn’t get too sunburned. Horray for us! Thank you, SPF 55.

To me, a trip to the beach just isn’t complete without playing mini-golf. It’s a family tradition and one that I force R to partake in every time we’re near the water. Luckily, he likes it too. πŸ™‚

And that was our beach trip!

The next few days will be jam-packed with us packing our lives into boxes to get ready for the big move on Saturday. BUT, I do have a special surprise for you guys! In honor of the unofficial start of summer, I have a special giveaway that will be happening later this week. Stay tuned – you’re gonna like it!

Have a great week!
