Christmas at the Biltmore

Merry Christmas Eve, y’all! Right now, R and I are curled up on the couch watching Netflix and a bunch of old episodes we’ve recorded on our DVR.Β  The hubs has been really sick these last few days so we’ve been taking it easy.

We wanted to do something extra special for our first Christmas as husband and wife so we took a trip to Asheville, North Carolina to see the Biltmore! Going to the Biltmore has been a dream of mine for such a long time so I was beyond excited to go…especially at Christmas time!

Since the hubs was so sick we had to make it a shorter trip than planned, but it was still worth it. And now we have an excuse to go back. πŸ™‚

We arrived in Asheville on Saturday afternoon and spent some time exploring downtown Asheville. It is SUCH a cute city – I can’t wait to go back and spend more time there.

Asheville is full of artists and musicians so everywhere we went we hears live music or got to see original pieces of artwork.

And bonus – we found a chocolate lounge! We had a little bit of a wait, but it was worth it.

I had the dark chocolate mint brownie – delish!!

And R had the olive oil chocolate cake…also delicious.

That night we ate at Mayfel’s in downtown Asheville (sorry, I didn’t get any pictures), but it was wonderful and I would highly recommend it.

That night we took the Christmas Candlelight tour which was fantastic. There were no photos allowed, but I did manage to get one little pic with my iPhone.

The next day we got to go back to take the tour during the daytime and get to see the property in all its glory.

Good thing they had a coffee shop on the property because it was COLD and we needed it!

These pictures really don’t do the property justice. I would love to go back in the spring or fall when the trees have some color.

The rest of our Christmas weekend will be spent getting my hubby better again, relaxing, cooking great food and face-timing our families. I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Christmas!

May the God of hope fill you with allΒ joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. ~ Romans 15:13
