Happy Fat Tuesday!

Can you believe that it’s already Fat Tuesday? It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating Christmas and now we’re well on our way to Easter! It’s crazy how time flies.

Usually for Lent I choose to give something up, but I decided to switch it up this year. Instead of taking something away from my daily life, I’ve decided to add something. I’d been on the lookout for a daily devotional and I found this one a couple weeks ago. I started a little behind because it began in January so I’ve been playing catch-up, but it won’t just take me through Lent but through the entire year! It also conveniently goes hand-in-hand with my “word” for this year as well.

Lent 1

I chose to purchase The Beauty of the Lord – A 365 Daily Devotional. I love how positive and uplifting it is. I also love that it’s focused on women and some of the issues we face every day – no matter what age or life-stage you’re in.

One of the reasons I chose this particular devotional is because they leave space for you to write down a few personal thoughts. I also appreciated that the entries were not too long; no excuses for not having enough time.

Lent 2

The Hubby also found a devotional. He has been reading, Grace for the Moment by Max Lucado. His is a little different than mine in that it has a morning and evening devotional which he really seems to like.

Lent 3

This is something that we can do together which I think is really special. We usually try and talk over our separate devotionals while dinner is in the oven or shortly after. I think we’ve started a fun tradition!

What are you doing for Lent this year?
