Dining Room Inspiration

Y’all I am just itching to buy some new furniture. We entertain a lot which I really enjoy, but the small, 4-person table I got from Pier 1 a few years ago just isn’t working. It’s perfect for an apartment or breakfast nook. But now that we have a dedicated space for a dining room, it’s way too small.

I’ve been browsing various furniture websites, Pinterest and design blogs to try and figure out what I want for our space. I want something that’s classic, sophisticated with a few rustic touches.

First, we had to settle on our color scheme. After a lot of thought, we decided to go with black furniture for our dining room. Right now, all the furniture in our house is chocolate brown and I’m just over it. I want something different. I love black (no surprise there!) and I love how it looks with pops of white and I think the colors we plan to use in our dining/living room will look great with black.

This is what I’m thinking for our room:

Grand Baluster Table from Restoration Hardware: Abby Chair from Bassett Furniture; Montecito Bench from ZGallerie; French Floral Place Mat from Williams-Sonoma; Faux Hydrangea Arrangement from Pottery Barn; Cabana Geometric Pillow from Pier1.

Of course in our real dining room, the woods and fabrics will match, but this is a pretty good idea of what I’m envisioning. Knowing me though, by the time we purchase our table it’ll be something completely different. But for now, this is what I’m dreaming about!

Hopefully Life as Mr. & Mrs. will be making some purchases soon. Have you bought any furniture recently?
