Our wedding: the details

I had to dedicate a whole post to some of our wedding details. It may sound frivolous, but I put a tremendous amount of effort into making our wedding feel warm and special. I wanted it to be a perfect reflection of us as a couple. Our colors were black, ivory and gold –Β  a classic combination that I couldn’t have been happier about!

Our photographer did such an amazing job of capturing all the details of our wedding; here are a few of my favorites!

Shoes (with bling…because you can never have too much of that!)

My romantic bouquet.

I wanted to add a special touch to my bouquet so I added my Tri Delta sorority pin.

Our reception was held at The Proximity Hotel.

We knew we wanted to have our own signature cocktails so we chose the Foxy Phoenix (after my alma mater Elon University) and the Spartan Sabotage (after his alma mater University of North Carolina at Greensboro).

The food at the reception was amazing, but these mini brioche burgers were a huge hit with our guests.

We had two types of floral arrangements – one high and one low. These were the low centerpieces. Light was extremely important to us so we included candles into both the high and low arrangements.

Our high arrangements were truly stunning. Our florist just blew what I had envisioned out of the water. My favorite part were the hanging votive candles!

As you can see, we rented black satin table cloths, gold-rimmed glass chargers and Chiavari chairs. We also added some amber lighting across the space which gave it a warm, glowing look. I love, love LOVE how it all came together!

I’ll be honest, I didn’t care that much about how our cake looked at first. I told our baker that I liked lace, ribbon and monograms and he made it happen! It came out more beautifully than I could have imagined!
