Becoming a family of three

You may have noticed I’ve been gone a while. Some of it definitely has to do with a bit of a blogging slump, but some of it also has to do with the fact that we are expecting our first child this summer! It has turned our world upside down in the absolute best way possible and to be quite honest, it’s been really lovely just being able to sit back and enjoy the fact that we are going to be parents.

This blog has been my little space of the internet for several years now and I’ve loved documenting the various life changes that have happened…from getting engaged, to moving, to new jobs, to our wedding and now our baby. In many ways, this blog has seen me through most of my adult life (after college, at least) and I love that! With that being said, I’m not sure what will happen to this little space moving forward. I definitely plan to continue posting, but there may be some lags, particularly after our little one finally gets here. Either way, I hope you’ll stick around and see what life is like for our little family of three!

I don’t plan on posting weekly baby updates, but I will share a few things along the way. To start, here are a few answers to questions you may have.

When are you due? August 20. (I’m currently 18 weeks along)

Will you be finding out the gender? Nope! We want to keep it a surprise.

How have you been feeling? Up until a couple weeks ago, I was feeling pretty crummy. I’ve had morning sickness and constant queasiness since about week 6, but I recently went on some anti-nausea medicine and it’s been a game-changer. Now I’m feeling a lot more like myself!

What have you been craving? A lot of Asian food, strawberries and milk. (Not together…I’m not that crazy!)

Have you had any food aversions? I got food poisoning from a piece of grilled chicken very early on in my pregnancy. I haven’t been able to eat much of it since.

Do you have a bump yet? I do! And it’s finally starting to look like a real baby bump – not like I’ve eating a few too many donuts. 🙂

Do you have names picked out? We have a list of a few names we’re going back and forth between for both boys and girls, but we won’t be sharing anything until the baby is born. We are affectionately calling our little one “nugget” for the time being.

Will you be sharing nursery updates? I hope so! I have always loved home décor so I am looking forward sharing my inspiration and final product!

That seems to be most of the basics for right now. Thank you for sharing in our excitement and I look forward to getting back into the swing of things!
